 Sergeant, Company K, 60th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, CSA 
 Enlisted and Mustered into service on May 10, 1862
Was wounded on September 17, 1862 at the Battle of Sharpsburg (Antietam), Maryland
Recovered at home and enlisted in Company L, (Avery's) 4th Georgia Cavalry on May 9, 1864 in Dallas, Georgia and served to the end of the war
Was surrendered by Gen Joseph E. Johnston at Durham Station, North Carolina on April 26, 1865
Note:( The 4th Regiment Georgia Cavalry by special order became the 12th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Cavalry on January 11, 1865 ).
