Recovered at home and enlisted in Company L, (Avery's) 4th Georgia Cavalry on May 9, 1864 in Dallas, Georgia and served to the end of the war

Was surrendered by Gen Joseph E. Johnston at Durham Station, North Carolina on April 26, 1865

Note:( The 4th Regiment Georgia Cavalry by special order became the 12th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Cavalry on January 11, 1865 ).
